Why evidence matters

Good evidence prevents disputes, speeds up approvals, and protects you in audits.

Minimum evidence for most Jobs

  • Clear engineer notes

    • What was the fault?

    • What action was taken?

    • What is the outcome?

  • Photos

    • Before (where relevant)

    • After (where relevant)

    • Anything that supports the outcome (labels, readings, replaced part)

  • Client sign-off (if required)

    • Signature + name + date/time (or equivalent confirmation)

Evidence for “problem not fixed.”

If the issue can’t be completed in one visit:

  • Photo of the issue

  • Note explaining why (parts/access/approval)

  • The next step is stated clearly

  • Put Job On Hold with a target date

Completion rule

Don’t mark Completed unless evidence is sufficient to close out without a follow-up call.
