This article explains the difference between assigning a worker and creating a visit when managing Jobs in Arez. It helps you understand when each action should be used and how they work together, so Jobs are owned correctly and only scheduled when needed.
Assigning a worker
From the dashboard, go to work Orders and click on all work orders. Jobs marked as new job have not yet been assigned. This means no one owns the job and no visit has been planned.Open the job you want to assign and go to the assignment tab.

From the admin view, you can assign either a supplier or a worker. In this example, a worker is being assigned. If a service partner is assigned instead, they can assign a worker and create a visit from their own portal using the same process. Select a worker from the list and assign them to the Job.Once assigned, the Job is owned by that worker. At this stage, the Job is not scheduled and no visit has been added.
When assigning a worker is enough?
Assigning a worker is used to show who owns the Job.
No visit is added, so no time slot or planned visit is created.
This is suitable when you only need to set responsibility and the work does not need to be scheduled.
Creating a visit
A visit is used to schedule the Job.Open the Job and go to the Visits tab. Click + Visit to add a visit to the Job.Enter the visit details and click Add, Once the visit is added, the Job is scheduled and the visit is created against the Job. The work now has a planned time and becomes visible in the worker app for planning and tracking.
When you need to add a visit?
A visit should be added when the Job needs to be scheduled, when the work needs to appear in the worker app, and when a planned time slot is required.
So, what’s the difference?
Do you just need to show who owns the Job, or do you need to schedule the work and make it visible in the worker app?
If you only need to set ownership, assign the Job.
If the work needs a planned time and visibility, add a visit.
