What is a variation?

A variation is additional work that wasn’t in the original scope or price (extra parts, extra time, extra tasks).

Best practice flow

  1. Engineer discovers extra work on site

  2. Engineer adds:

    • photos + a short note explaining what’s needed and why

  3. Ops creates a Quotation for the variation

  4. Job goes On Hold while awaiting approval (if you can’t proceed)

  5. Once approved:

    • book a Visit (status Visit Added) if return visit is needed

    • complete work and mark Completed
